The Descent: Chronicles of a film (IV)
We planted, suddenly, five days of shooting. Things are going well, we have resolved almost all, now there are only polishing fringes, budgets and above all, coordination. This short film, as I have said other times, it is a choreography of movements and changes in location (within it). It is the first time we face a planned shoot in sequence, ie the shooting plan is developed based on plans, but sequences. This gives us a great facility in the face of continuity and as recorded in daylight, shooting less dependent on light fields and fields. Luckily, we made the duties of the acting side. In the tests we can never take final action because we are not in the same space. For the actors it's hard to imagine that they thus face a desert highway when in fact, have a shelf front. Even so, Barbara and Anne are working hard and we will not leave room for improvisation during the days of filming, because we have measured time, looks, tone and movements. This week we will do a dress rehearsal, this time with José Luis Alcobendas. Thanks to this, and the great work of the production team, my fears are decreasing. I recognize that this morning I was really scared, because the forecast for the weekend are not exactly encouraging. If I have clouds, I miss the atmosphere (0 won another, says Polo). You know the saying, until May 40 will not take off your coat ... and we recorded on days 36 and 37 May. If we are sitting in front of the rain (God or whoever it depends forbid), you may drop us a sequence, which may significantly increase budget and will make my holidays this year are terribly austere. We searched for cover, but we are confident that we will be lucky. This week we test makeup and costumes, all the art section is virtually closed. At last we seem to have the car. A few days ago, we saw a couple of cars ideal for shooting and a desperate push, we leave them a note to the owners on the windshield. Finally, the car has been the other way, but had to try. I'm still surprised the involvement of many members of the team, sacrificing their free time and even your job. The truth is I do not know if someday I'll be able to thank all this. On the second weekend of shooting, we need the help of a lot of you and we need extras. You may drop the gas station, is something that we leave and we have not yet dared to speak, but at this point and what budget we just going to be hard to find. From this and much more, we talked about yesterday in the team meeting. And today, just five days for the descent.
